A 30-year-old man was allegedly killed by his elder brother in Muzaffarnagar's Atmakhiyali village  three days back over some property dispute, following which police arrested the accused on Sunday.

On Wednesday, Tisheel Kumar (30) was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his room by his wife, who intimated the police about the incident, SHO Devender Kumar said, adding prima facie it appeared to be a case of suicide. After postmortem examination it was disclosed that Tisheel had injury marks on his body indicating that he was murdered before being hanged. A thorough probe found the involvement of the deceased's elder brother Mohit Kumar (35) in the incident. Up on interrogation, Mohit confessed to have committed the crime over a land dispute, the SHO said.

A case has been registered and Mohit has been arrested on charges of murder, the SHO added.
