YouTuber Asks Elon Musk To Hire This Indian Barber And It Has A 'Cosmic' Connection

The expertise of Indian street barbers and their “champi" has been long immortalised in songs like “Sar Jo Tera Chakraye" from the 1957 film Pyaasa. Many people in India will swear by an affordable 10-minute head massage to relieve all stress from a hard day. Recently, an American YouTube got the chance to experience the famous champi and needless to say, the experience lived up to the champi’s reputation. Travel YouTuber Max McFarlin was in the Nehru Place market in Delhi when he decided to get a head massage from a roadside barber after he saw someone else getting it.

Before sitting on the barber’s chair, Max says to his camera, “So I saw this man, he’s working hard and he’s making it look good. I am excited to get a head massage from this guy." A barber named Muhammad Waris then gives Max a head massage, a shoulder massage and stretches out his arms. He also pops Max’s finger joints and adjusts his neck as if he is a chiropractor. Max can be seen in a state of bliss throughout the massage. Minutes into the massage, Max says, “Elon Musk needs to hire this guy ’cause I just went to space." He describes the experience as the “best massage I have ever had." The 10-minute massage ends with Muhammad Waris neatly combing Max’s oil-slicked hair.

In the end, Max asks Muhammad Waris for the charge, to which Waris says that he can pay as per his linking. Max then hands over what looks like three Rs 500 notes, which Waris graciously accepts with a handshake.

This video has already gathered over 1.9 views on YouTube since it was posted on April 21. Commenting on it, a YouTube user wrote, “I felt relieved as well, but you have paid him way more than what he makes per massage. By the way, my office is also in Nehru Place, 50 meters from the place where you were, so I will give him a try tomorrow for sure."

Another person wrote, “That comb job at the end was magnificent!! This video shows you the best of both cultures, hard-working Indian and an adventurous American!! Not many educated Indians would ever dare get in that chair, complaining about the cleanliness of his clothes and hands, you throw caution out the window and that makes for great content!!"

Someone else observed, “Wow, that street massage experience in India looked absolutely incredible! The way he described it, you could practically feel the relaxation through the screen."
