Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will meet Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in Tihar jail on April 15. The development comes after the security review in Tihar earlier in the day.

According to a PTI report, Tihar jail officials, Delhi Police and Punjab Police on Friday discussed the security arrangement for Bhagwant Mann’s meeting with AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal in the prison.

The discussion at the office of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in Tihar, was held to make security arrangements and complete codal formalities, as mandated in Delhi Prison Rules, to arrange a meeting between the two leaders.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann had sought time from the Tihar administration to meet the Delhi chief minister. Kejriwal, on the other hand, has given the names of six people, including the Punjab chief minister, whom he wants to meet in jail.

AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam. He is under judicial custody in Tihar Jail till April 15.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday said the BJP can put Arvind Kejriwal behind bars, but cannot imprison the latter’s ideas and the “change” he and his party has brought about.

“The idea with which the AAP works has been witnessed in Delhi and Punjab and they (the BJP) can arrest one Kejriwal, but there are thousands across the country who are following the party principles of giving to the people what they need the most,” Mann said at an election rally campaigning for his party candidate Manoj Dhanowar for the Dibrugarh seat.

“They thought that if Kejriwal is sent to jail, AAP will be finished. But, how will they imprison his ideas?” the Punjab CM added.

Meanwhile, BRS MLC K Kavitha was sent to the custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) till April 15 in the alleged liquor policy scam by a Delhi court earlier in the day.

K Kavitha, the daughter of former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao,  was arrested by the CBI on Thursday from judicial custody in Tihar jail, where she has been lodged after her arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
