It is not tenable to demand his resignation just because he holds the Ministry of Coal,” he added.Speaking on the sidelines of the 44th Regional Conference of Chartered Accountants at Bangalore organised by Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Moily stated that CAG report is a draft copy not the final version. “The Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) which will take a final call on the issue,” he said.On the state’s demands for power, he said that the Central government is ready to supply Karnataka’s quota of power according to Gadgil report and he would hold a discussion with Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar and Power Minister Shobha Karandlaje in this regard.He also maintained that many private players have come forward to invest in power sector under the 12th Five Year Plan which is set to increase the production of electricity in the country.“Earlier, the private players had shown interest to invest only 27.5 per cent in power sector. At present, there is an expectation of 80 percent of investment in the same sector,” Moily explained.
