The process of appointment of court managers, which is in progress, will be completed in a day or two, informed Judge of the High Court of Karnataka and Administrative Judge of Mysore Justice N Kumar.
He was speaking after inaugurating the ‘Nyayanga Bhavan’ in Mysore on Sunday.
He said that he is also in the panel of judges and they are finishing the appointment of court managers - two for the High Court, one each for district court and taluk-level courts, following the directions of the Supreme Court.
This will help in revving up the justice delivery system and reduce pendency.
“As we concentrate on hearing the cases, we weren’t good administrators.
Even employees have their own limitations,” he said and added, “in view of this, the Supreme Court has directed to appoint court managers and a proposal has been cleared by the Union government.
” He also said that persons with experience of administration are being appointed as court managers.
Apart from this, if all judges, advocates and employees work together, pendency will come to zero, Justice N Kumar added.
Justice N Kumar also said that media should be more judicious while criticising the judiciary for delay in justice.
It should not lie or sensationalise issues to increase its Television Rating Point (TRP) or circulation, he added.
Stating that the media should be committed to uphold the truth, he said that there is a presumption in society that all reports broadcasting or publishing by media are true and the country is running because of media only.
Therefore, media should not forget its social commitment and not suppress the voice of people, he added.
He also said that people are losing faith in the judicial system.
Asserting that there is also a little truth in criticism by media and people, he said that all judicial officials, advocates and employees should wake up to change the system and opinion of people.
This apart, there is also a need to find out whether the lack of human resources is responsible for delay in justice delivery system or any other lapses persists in the working structure, the judge added.
