Aziz Qureshi takes oath as UP Governor

Uttrakhand Governor Aziz Qureshi was today administered oath of office as the Governor of Uttar Pradesh following the resignation of BL Joshi.

Qureshi has been given additional charge of UP.

Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud administered the oath to Qureshi at a function organised at Raj Bhawan in Lucknow on Monday evening.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, former chief minister N D Tiwari, several ministers, MLAs, senior bureaucrats and police officers were present on the occasion.

Earlier in the day, outgoing Governor Joshi, who had resigned last week, was given a warm send-off at Raj Bhawan.
