UP Board Exams 2024: The evaluation of class 10 and 12 answer needs to be completed within a total of 13 working days

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) officially announced that the evaluation of intermediate and high school answer papers will start on March 16 and conclude on March 31, a total of thirteen working days later. Dibyakant Shukla, the secretary of the UP Board, made this announcement in an official notification that he posted on the microblogging platform “X” (previously Twitter).

In light of the Holi festival, the board has also decided not to carry out any evaluation work between March 24 and 26. However, the evaluation procedure still needs to be completed within a total of 13 working days.

A total of 94,802 examiners have been appointed for the extensive task of evaluating 1.76 crore high school answer sheets, while 52,295 examiners have been appointed to evaluate 1.25 crore intermediate test answer sheets. As a result, 3.01 crore answer sheets will be evaluated by 1.47.097 examiners.

This year, there are 116 evaluation centres set up for the evaluation of class 12 answer sheets and 131 evaluation centres set up for the evaluation of class 10 answer sheets. Of the 260 centres, 83 government and 177 non-government-aided secondary schools have been designated as evaluation hubs.

Prior to the commencement of the board exams, Secretary Shukla emphasised the incorporation of new technology to prevent cheating and unfair practices. He also warned of strict actions against the circulation of question papers on platforms like WhatsApp before or after the exams. However, instances of alleged sharing of maths and biology papers on WhatsApp have already been reported.

The UP Board’s ongoing high school and intermediate examinations, which include more than 55 lakh students, are set to be wrapped up on March 9. With 29,47,311 candidates in the high school category and 25,77,997 candidates in the intermediate category, official figures show that a total of 55,25,308 candidates enrolled for the exams in 2024.
