West Indies cricket icon Chris Gayle is celebrating Kolkata Knight Riders’ Indian Premier League 2024 triumph in style. KKR were unstoppable in IPL 2024 as they won their third title beating Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday.
The Shreyas Iyer-led side won by eight wickets to secure a dominant win in Chennai.

Following the triumph, Gayle, a former KKR batter himself, congratulated the franchise and mention his former teammates Sunil Narine and Andre Russell as he danced to the famous song Danza Kuduro.
“Kolkata Knight Riders, congratulations IPL champions 2024. Hey Dre Rus, Sunil Narine…,” Gayle said on his Instagram story.

A user proclaimed, “I might remove Gayle from my hate watch list”.
Another wrote, “Chris Gayle is a born Knight”.
Gayle represented KKR in 2009 and 2010.
He didn’t have a strong showing with the Shah Rukh Khan-co-owned franchise, scoring 171 runs in the first season and adding 292 in the second.
Gayle also took five wickets for Kolkata in the 16 matches he played for them.
Having not won the IPL in either of the two seasons, Gayle departed for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2011.
While the West Indies batting star took home the Orange cap in his first two campaigns with Bengaluru in 2011 and 2012, he never won an IPL title.
Coming back to the final, KKR showcased their prowess in one of the most one-sided finals in the competition’s history.
They were phenomenal with the ball throughout the game with ample contributions from Mitchell Starc, Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell and Harshit Rana. During the chase, Venkatesh Iyer belted 52 runs to star in an easy chase of 114.
